This fridge has them all, from the Keurig K cup coffee maker inside the door, to a clever dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This fridge is expensive and I was expecting better.
This refrigerator is a good choice, despite the small blip. It has a large freezer compartment, which is quite uncommon in counter-depth French door refrigerators. Furthermore, it holds a fair amount of frozen foods as compared to similar models.
Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is standard for a French-door fridge at this price. It has a decent sized icemaker in the left door. However it's not the biggest one I've seen.
You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create a an individual storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. Its LED lighting is a nice feature and the inside storage bins feature a third shelf that folds down to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little rough on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place across the globe. It also comes with numerous options for customizing. It also sends you notifications when doors are left open, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.
It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE refrigerators that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. It also has an indicator on the fridge display to show how much water you have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is an impressive product. It's designed to look like it's a seamless component of your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment that helps keep vegetables and fruits fresher for longer and has dual compressors for maximum preservation of food. The ice maker is one of the most efficient we've ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of ice with a low water usage. This refrigerator is the ideal option for a single family or kitchenettes that want a built-in look and top-of-the-line food preservation.
This fridge was rated as the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained constant at just above 0°F and never fluctuated by more than a fraction, this is crucial to prevent the risk of a freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the temperature it was set within an hour, and maintained the temperature throughout our testing.

However, they must be cleaned regularly to prevent the growth of mold.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features a standard French door design, and two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded down to make space for taller items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for products from the deli and an inside water dispenser.
This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer also comes with clever design features, such as sliding drawers that allow you to organize your items. It also has a huge bin that holds plenty of frozen food items and an additional storage bin for ice.
Smart InstaView panel is another cool feature of the refrigerator. It lets you control the temperature of your fridge and lighting using your smartphone. It's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially when you're away from home.
But while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily add to the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than the other fridges we test. This is likely due to the greater capacity.

If you're looking for an French door fridge that doesn't cost you a fortune this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a minimalist design that's not as visually striking as other models but it does have enough features to make it a solid pick. Its main feature is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge ice maker as well as a water dispenser.
Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power to this area so it can be used to store food items which need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.
In my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different parts of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the fridge didn't differ significantly from 38 degrees. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to an intelligent thermometer to get more precise measurements of your fridge's internal temperature.
The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey body with a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
