Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Function

Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their car. The "mood station" allows customers to choose images that inspire them. These could range from beautiful landscapes to sporting events. When each selection is made, a pattern appears which shows the model and color preferences for the customized Bentley.
The configuration that is created is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards that are then presented to the guests in a custom-made key case. Bentley says it takes roughly 500 man-hours in order to create and assemble the average Mulsanne. The unwillingness to embrace modern technology is the main factor to this lengthy and laborious process. Instead of using a machine to place the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand.
