Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of previous albums and was a stronger, more consistent effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature.
