Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin
You'll need a double

Find a
cheap stroller that can be folded in one step and easily lifted into your boot. You might also want a lightweight design that's easy to navigate and manoeuvre, particularly if you have busy roads to navigate.
Side-by-Side
This is the most commonly used double pushchair. It usually seats two children side-by-side. They tend to be wider than single pushchairs, which means they may be less nimble on the footpaths and may be a bit difficult to navigate through kerbs with a car seat attached. The extra width allows them to move more easily through doors and also more evenly distributed, so it is less burdensome to carry around on your back.
Many models are able to be used as twin prams, and can take a carrycot, or two car seats. Some models can be converted into a single mode with a basket to the side (like the Cybex Venus).
One of the best examples of this is the Bugaboo Donkey 5 which, in Twin Mode, allows you to fit the rear seat and a carrycot side by side. This allows you to create an entirely enclosed twin space, which is perfect for newborns. The pram comes with amazing accessories, like the newborn cocoons that can be positioned either facing toward the forward direction or in any direction (for twin-facing prams). It's not as light like other options, but it's really cleverly constructed.
Lightweight
Cybex is known for its unique pushchairs, and the single-to-double is no exception. Its clever frame expands widthways to accommodate an additional seat and you can use it as a twin right from birth with the addition of two
infant Carriages cocoons (PS59 each) that create enclosed lie-flat spaces for babies. It can also be used in an individual mode with only one child thanks to a large basket that is placed behind the seat. Tandem
If you're planning to have twins you will require a tandem pushchair. This allows the children to sit together and see each one another. They are ideal for activities like visiting the zoo, as the children can look at all the animals together. These are also great for parents who want to keep an eye on their toddler and baby at the same time.
Some tandem pushchairs provide ultra flexibility since they can be converted back to single mode. This is especially useful for families with more children than two (or if your eldest child doesn't require the buggy anymore). This means that you won't be left with an empty pushchair that you need to store away, which can be costly.
The Cybex Venus, for example can be used in mono or
double pram mode. Its frame expands to allow for an additional seat. This isn't the heaviest of pushchairs, but it offers a large basket for shopping which is located behind the front seat in double mode (and at the back of the seat in mono mode). The seats can be placed to face each other or one could be placed higher, so that it can be able to look over the other and see what they're up to.
Other double tandem pushchairs, like the Joolz Geo 3, are able to seat one above the other or side by side. They have a sleek,
compact travel pram frame that makes them easier to maneuver through doors and supermarket aisles and some models can also be used as a jogging stroller on rough terrain thanks to a four-wheel suspension as well as large rear wheels.
A tandem pushchair could also be used to transport two carrycots or a car and buggy seat. This allows you to create an entire travel system from the beginning and save money on additional purchases. It's worth remembering that tandems are heavier and longer than single pushchairs and can feel less stable bumping up kerbs or going over uneven surfaces. They also require dismantling in order to fit into cars.
