WoW Upgrades - The
item upgrader mod Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an
item upgrader kit by 3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.
The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the
upgrade items will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.
The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will show an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Item upgraders can be found at many locations, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available once certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an
item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.
It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It is
Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
