Honeycomb is a wonderful wonder of nature created by honeybees. It is a perfectly organized hexagonal cell structure made from beeswax that is naturally produced, and it's one of the most efficient components of the honeybee hive. Honeycomb structures today have numerous scientific and engineering applications.
Honeycomb is used by the hive to serve three purposes as a nursery to breed new bees, as a place to store and transform pollen into "beebread" as well as finally, for long-term storage for nectar. When a beehive is swarming, the bees startup a new hive

Bees create honeycombs by moving their flight muscles, generating heat which softens the beeswax-based plates they release from their abdomens. The bees then form the wax into cylinders and connect adjacent cells on both sides. This is also an example of convergent evolutionary change that occurs when a similar feature is seen in a variety of closely related species.
