Canon will release the RF mount APS-C mirrorless camera, EOS R7, in late June. The price is 197,780 yen for the body only, and 246,180 yen for the RF 18-150mm lens kit (both prices include tax). The image sensor is a CMOS sensor with approximately 32.5 effective megapixels, and the crop factor is approximately 1.6x, the same as the EOS M series. Continuous shooting is AF/AE linked, with an electronic shutter at approximately 30 frames per second, and a mechanical shutter at approximately 15 frames per second. However, since the rolling shutter distortion is greater than that of the EOS R5 and R6, the default setting is the mechanical shutter electronic front curtain. In RAW burst mode (no crop), it also has a pre-shooting function that allows recording 0.5 seconds back. The image engine is DIGIC X, and the imaging sensitivity is ISO 100-32000 (ISO 51200 with extension). It has a built-in digital lens optimizer. The maximum shutter speed is 1/8000 seconds with a mechanical shutter and 1/16000 seconds with an electronic shutter, and the shutter durability is about 200,000 times with a mechanical shutter. The AF is a dual pixel CMOS AFII, and the EOS iTR AF X, the same as the EOS R3, automatically detects and tracks subjects such as people, animals, and vehicles. You can switch the left and right of the subject or the target eye even during tracking. The focusing area is 651 points. It is equipped with a sensor-shift type 5-axis image stabilization (IBIS), and the effective number of stops is equivalent to about 8 stops in cooperation with the lens. It also has automatic horizontal correction using the image stabilization mechanism. The traditional EOS sub electronic dial has been moved to the upper right of the back (to the right of the eyepiece). In addition, an AF/MF switch has been newly installed. Video is 4K/60p with 7K oversampling (can be switched between with and without cropping). The EVF is a liquid crystal with about 2.36 million dots, and it also has an OVF view assist that simulates an optical viewfinder. The rear monitor is a 3-inch vari-angle touch panel LCD with approximately 1.62 million dots. The recording media is a double slot for SD UHS-II. The body frame is made of magnesium alloy, the exterior is EP, and the dust-proof and drip-proof structure is equivalent to the EOS 90D. It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, and USB Type-C. The accessory shoe is the same type of multi-accessory shoe as the EOS R3. The power source is LP-E6NH/LP-E6N/LP-E6, and USB power supply is also possible. The number of shots that can be taken is approximately 380 shots with EVF and smoothness priority, and approximately 500 shots with power saving priority. The size and weight are approximately 132.0X90.4X91.7mm and approximately 530g (body only). The RF mount APS-C mirrorless camera, EOS R10, will also be released in late July. The price is 128,480 yen for the body only, and 176,880 yen with the 18-150mm lens kit (both including tax). The image sensor is an APS-C size, 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor with a crop factor of 1.6x, and the image engine is DIGIC X. Continuous shooting is about 23 frames per second with an electronic shutter, and about 15 frames with a mechanical shutter electronic front curtain. Rolling shutter distortion is less than the EOS R7 because of the lower pixel count. There is no in-body image stabilization mechanism, but a flash is built in. AF is Dual Pixel CMOS AFII, and the subject automatic recognition is the same as the R7. The focusing area is 651 points, the same as the R7. There is an AF/MF switch, and a multi-controller to the right of the eyepiece, with a sub electronic dial above it. The EVF is about 2.36 million dots, and the rear monitor is a 3-inch, 1.04 million dot vari-angle touch panel LCD. Video is 4K/30p with 6K oversampling. The recording media is a single SD UHS-II slot. It comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth LE, and a USB Type-C terminal. The power supply is LP-E17, and USB power supply is possible. The number of shots that can be taken is about 210 with EVF and smoothness priority, and about 260 with power saving priority. The size and weight are about 122.5X87.8X83.4mm and about 382g (body only). In addition, two RF mount lenses exclusively for APS-C were also announced. The RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM will be released in late June, priced at 42,500 yen (tax included). It is equivalent to about 29-72mm in 35mm format. It is automatically cropped in the 35mm format EOSR series. The lens barrel is a retractable type and is equipped with in-lens image stabilization (IS), and the R7 provides about 6.5 effective stops with coordinated correction. The lens is made up of 7 elements in 7 groups, with a minimum shooting distance of 0.2 meters (wide-angle end) with AF, 7 aperture blades, and a filter diameter of 49mm. Size and weight are approximately 69X44.3mm and 130g. RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM will be released in late June, priced at 68,500 yen (tax included). It is equivalent to approximately 29-240mm in 35mm format. It is automatically cropped in 35mm format EOS R series. AF/MF switching is on the body side. The lens configuration is 17 elements in 13 groups including 1 UD element, the same as EF-M 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM, with 7 aperture blades and a filter diameter of 55mm. Size and weight are approximately 69X84.5mm and 310g. I shot in RAW and exported the NEF file to JPEG using CaptureOne Pro 22. I tweaked the parameters in detail to get a finish close to my image. However, there is no reason why I have to use this RAW development software, so I will let it disappear after the trial period is over. Nikon Z fc, Z 50mm F2.8 MC, aperture F2.8, aperture priority AE, ISO 3200.
