World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests, and each
Best item upgrader has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its stats increase in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.
The level of an item is a widely used measure of power, and is visible on all tooltips of items. It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to a lower level). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a measure of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item's level.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories about how the calculation of the
item upgrader mod's level is done. One theory states that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It considers that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For example it can increase the item's haste or crit score. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher value.
Item Stats
Stats on an item are a significant part of what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.
Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item.
Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. This will cost a specific amount in gold and items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other methods of rerolling.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will contain at least one stat within the range, unless they are a unique item or a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would need to be done on a per-
item upgrade basis and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.
item upgrade Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in early game runs than later ones since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each item level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that is able to deal damage by 5percent. These items can be found in the shop or created using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are costly and not all upgrades will succeed. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage indicates the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The percentage of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.
The Luck of an item can influence the success of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5percent.
The
item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
