However, this isn't practical to implement due to the many layers of complexity are involved in the process of comparison. There simply isn't enough space in the UI to make it work.
A script that checks the requirements of an item's upgrade before allowing the
item upgrader mod to be upgraded is another solution. This approach is best for systems with an extremely small number of upgradeable items and a few
upgrade item dependencies. A sword can be upgraded from Sword+1 to Sword+2. A script could examine the Item Definition attribute for each upgrade and then set an Item Status of "upgraded" to indicate that the upgrade is valid.

Costs
