Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an attempt to return to the classic sextet structure, and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. Its more punk-rock sound was indicative of the maturation of group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's greater virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams.
