Hey everyone, it's Bennett from ProFixer. Today, I'm going to walk you through the process of replacing the LCD touch screen on an iPad 7th Generation (2019) 10.2-inch model. One of the great things about this iPad model is that you can replace just the glass, unlike the iPad Pro models where the LCD is fused to the digitizer. Everything I use in this tutorial, remote computer including the digitizer, is linked in the description below. Don’t forget to like this video, subscribe, and leave a comment with what you want to see in future videos. Without further ado, let's get started on making this iPad 7th Generation 10.2 new again.

Tools and Materials You'll Need:
Razor blade
Plastic playing cards
Isopropyl alcohol
Acetone
Tweezers
Heat mat
Primer (Adhesion promoter)
Tessa tape
LCD replacement screen
Small screwdriver set
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Prepping the iPad
Heat the iPad: Place the iPad on a heat mat set to 60 degrees Celsius for a few minutes to soften the adhesive.
Inspect the Damage: This particular iPad has a big crack across the screen but no shatter points, suggesting it might have been repaired before, though it seems unlikely due to its new condition.
2. Removing the Digitizer
Insert a Razor Blade: Use a razor blade to create a gap between the iPad's frame and the screen, allowing space for a plastic playing card.
Cut the Adhesive: Slide the playing card around the edges to cut the adhesive. Be careful not to insert the card too far on the right side where the flex cables and home button flex cable are located.
3. Opening the iPad
Open Like a Book: Carefully open the iPad like a book and rest it on your workbench.
Remove Debris: If there is any debris on the LCD, wait until you remove the LCD to blow it off to avoid smudges or damage.
4. Removing the LCD
Pry the LCD: Use tweezers to lift the edges of the LCD, which is glued in with a strong yet easily removable adhesive.
Disconnect the LCD: Lift the bottom of the LCD and move it forward about half an inch to safely bend the flex cable. Then, remove the screw covering the battery and insert a battery isolation tool.
5. Preparing for New Screen Installation
Clean the Bezel: Use a new razor blade to scrape off the bulk adhesive. Be careful around Wi-Fi flexes.
Use Acetone and Isopropyl Alcohol: Apply acetone to remove adhesive residue, fix computer then clean up with isopropyl alcohol.
Apply Primer: Apply primer to the cleaned bezel to activate the adhesive properties of the new Tessa tape.
6. Installing the New Screen
Apply Tessa Tape: Apply Tessa tape to the new screen, particularly on areas without pre-applied adhesive.
Test the New Screen: Before final installation, connect the new screen to the iPad and power it on to ensure proper touch functionality.
7. Installing the Home Button
Heat and Remove the Old Button: Heat the old screen to soften the adhesive and carefully remove the home button.
Apply Adhesive and Primer: Apply primer and new adhesive to the home button area on the new screen.
Attach the Home Button: Carefully align and attach the home button to the new screen.
8. Final Assembly
Reattach Flex Cables: Reconnect the digitizer and LCD flex cables.
Secure the Screen: Once everything is connected and tested, apply pressure around the edges to ensure the new screen is firmly attached.
Power Up and Test: Turn on the iPad to ensure everything is working correctly, including the home button and touch screen.

By following these steps, you can successfully replace the LCD touch screen on your iPad 7th Generation 10.2-inch model. Remember to handle each component with care to avoid damage, computers repair services especially the delicate flex cables.
