iRobot Combo Review
Combo is the first mop from iRobot and vacuum robot. It's also its best-looking. Its aluminum top piece brushed and
irobot roomba models logo are more elegant than the loud designs of competitors.
The iRobot Home application is used to help you set up and guide your robot. The app tracks data about usage and maps of your home including furniture and obstructions. Maps and images are only shared when you have signed up.
It's not a mop
The
Combo Irobot, an extremely intelligent mopping robot, takes all the capabilities of the fantastic Roomba J7+ and adds a reservoir of water onboard, a small pad for mopping and a robot arm which can lift and lower the pad. It can complete a lot of work in 11 minutes before running out of juice and automatically returning to its base station to recharge.
The combo model includes the iRobot Home app, so you can initiate or stop cleaning runs. It's also a good-looking robot, with matte black plastic that doesn't show fingerprints or dust and an aluminum top piece that is brushed with the small iRobot logo.
It is a fantastic tool of vacuuming, with no problem crossing over large area rugs or transition strips between flooring surfaces. It can even pick-up fine dust that other robotic vacuums fail to pick up. However, it's not so well at cutting. It's not able to completely eliminate dried milk stains, for example unless you send it out several times.
IRobot's specialized Braava Jet M6 mopping robot, which is available as combination with the J7 Plus frequently for less than the combination Combo is much more effective in this, and other difficult tasks. It can even suck up ketchup and wine that has spilled, though I'd advise against sending it after any type of liquid with a high sugar content.
It's an air vacuum
It's also among the more attractive robot vacuums with a smooth, rounded top that doesn't show dust or fingerprints as easily as other models. The tiny dustbin and water tank of this robot vacuum are simple to open, but they are not the most spacious. The Combo j7+ also has the same smarts you'd would expect from
irobot self empty for hardwood floors (
just click the up coming page), including map and obstacle avoidance mapping that works effectively and swiftly. The mopping arm is the thing that makes this model stand out in its class. The mop pad is placed on the top of the robot vacuum. When it spots a surface that needs mopping the pad is dropped beneath and behind the robotic vacuum. This is a major improvement from other robot vacuums that require users to manually remove the mop pad for carpets and hard floors, or even turn the whole unit off for mopping.
It's a charging station
Place your Combo
irobot deals on the changing station, and then align the metal contacts on the base. The charging station is easy to set up and operates well. During my testing, it took a few minutes for the robot to begin charging and then make a sound when it was finished. When the Combo robot is fully charged, you can start mapping runs on the app to help the robot understand your home. The app also allows you to mark certain objects as permanent obstacles, like lamp cords. You can also connect your robot to Alexa or Google Assistant, so you can use voice commands to guide it around your home.
It's a smart device
