BOB
Single Pro Stroller Review
The stroller is easy to move, whether you're running on a trail or shopping at the grocery store. The locking swivel wheel on the front allows you to choose between a smoother or more bump-resistant ride.
It comes with a broad range of accessories to ensure your child's comfort such as a bassinet, warm-weather footmuff, and a travel bag. It's also compatible with a car seat for infants.
Safety
The BOB Alterrain Pro stroller is a top quality stroller specifically designed for runners. The aluminum frame has few connecting points for fasteners, and a very little flex, making an extremely solid product that stands up well to running. The design of the fabric and way it attaches to the frame, canopy, and basket is sleek and well-finished with no sagging or errant stitching, which is a common problem on other strollers. The round bar brake "pedal" is a brand new system that we've never seen before. It's simple to use and practical for running as it only requires one action to push "pins" into the holes. The front wheel tracking knob is simple to use and can help get your stroller back on track in case you lose sight of the direction you're heading.
The large, robust tires on this stroller are able to take on debris and bumps easily and make the ride more comfortable for your child. The seat has a deep recline that can be locked into place, as well as a magnetic peekaboo window and five-point no-rethread harness for secure straps. It comes with many features parents appreciate, including mesh pockets for water bottles and a sun visor that can be adjusted, and an ample storage basket that is easily accessible. It can be used with a car seat for infants via adapters and can be used as an accessory for travel.
The stroller's length makes it difficult to maneuver, especially in tight spaces. It is also less maneuverable on rough surfaces. It's also expensive, although it does have a couple of features that other full-size strollers don't have: a set 12 inch rear wheels that you can swap to 16-inch wheels when you want to go faster or over rocky terrain, and a more user-friendly parking brake that locks two wheels in one simple action. This is a great option for parents who wish to run with their child but want the convenience of a stroller while not running. It's not the
best single stroller 2024 option for everyday strolling. We recommend the smaller model if that is what you want to do.
Comfort
A slim design allows the stroller to be slim enough for most doors, making it easy to get in and out of your vehicle after your run. It can be folded down with just one hand and weighs only 33 pounds. This is heavier than many of the
single pushchairs strollers we looked at, however it is still able to lift and fit in trunks for most people. It's compatible with car seats using an separately sold adapter and can accommodate most major brands of seats, including Britax. Britax infant car seat our tester used.
The handlebar can be adjusted, so you can set the height that is ideal for you or the person you're pushing. The sturdy frame has only a few connection points of fasteners, so there's very little flexibility in the frame or the fabric. The seat also comes with an enormous, cushioned canopy, as well as a five-point safety harness. Its biggest drawback is its weight, however our tester didn't notice the additional weight affected the way they felt during the test run.
Our guides and their kids ran 3 to 5 miles over different terrains (paved roads and grass, gravel, and bumpy, broken pavement) and noted the ease they felt each time they went out. They also took their strollers for longer walks and noted how their children sat comfortably in the seat.
This stroller is a bit expensive, but it comes with numerous amazing features that make it worth the cost for a few runners. The suspension and swiveling wheels on the front make it ideal for rough terrain. Its wide footprint also gives it a great deal of stability. It also has a large cargo space in the back for storage and can be fitted with a snack tray and sunshade as well as a an infant carrier that is rear-facing (not included).
This stroller is smaller than the other double strollers we've reviewed but it is still lightweight and easy to maneuver. It folds in a slide-and twist motion and comes with a bag that fits it well in the bottom of the seat. The shocks can be manually adjusted but they'll reset to their out-of-the-box setting when you fold the stroller, so it's
best single stroller to adjust them prior to each use.
Style
The BOB Stroller Revolution PRO is the most luxurious off-road and on-road stroller. It features an elegant, sturdy frame with an infant car seat adapter built in that allows it be used as a travel system since birth. It also comes with a hand-operated rear brake, as well as a single-hand fold that can collapse the stroller into the upright position for easy transport and storage. This is the ideal stroller for parents who want a stroller to keep up with their active lifestyle.
The aluminum frame is extremely rigid and has no flex. It is a sturdy, durable stroller, ideal for off-road and rough terrain. The design connects the fabric to the canopy and frame creating a sleek appearance. The wheels are larger and are able to slide over rougher surfaces, which reduces the impact on both the rider and the environment. This stroller's SmoothShoxa.C suspension is the star of the show, as it minimizes bumps during runs.
The ability to maneuver is crucial when you're on a rough trail or navigating the aisles of a grocery store. The Alterrain Pro is an excellent option for both and the swivel wheel on the front can be unlocked to allow for nimble maneuverability even in tight spaces. The locked front wheel and suspension offer stability to runners. The pneumatic tires and big wheels help reduce the impact on the ground and we found it easily handled grass, gravel, asphalt carpet, wood bridges, roots, rocks, curbs and much more.
The stroller comes with a wide variety of accessories like a jogging attachment which turns it into a running stroller that can be used for off-road use. It is also customizable with a range of color decals and mudguards, which is a nice option for those who want to personalize their stroller. The seat can be adjusted to the ideal position for your child's riding and reclines in a flat. The leg rest can be adjusted and is padded to provide extra comfort for your child. The canopy is a great size, and offers enough protection for both you and your child.
Convenience
With a reversible seat as well as an enormous canopy that blocks the sun, this stroller is great for children. It also has an adult's pocket as well as a foot brake.
The Baby Jogger City Select folds like luggage and is easy to use with just one hand. The large tires provide an easy ride on rough terrain as well as paved sidewalks and it connects to various infant car seats. It has a front wheel that can be rotated to allow rapid maneuvering, even when you're running.
Our reviewer says the stroller feels durable and solid to take on any adventure. It's mostly assembled and takes only 5-10 mins to add the other parts. The wheels are filled with air and rubber to reduce bumps on hard surfaces, so it glides effortlessly over a variety of terrains. The stroller also features an electronic peek-a-boo window which parents have said is an excellent feature to stop children from becoming overheated.
It's not designed to be used to be used for shopping, since it's difficult to maneuver through narrow aisles. Its brakes are activated by pushing down on a round bar, then inserting "pins". This is not the most convenient design. It also comes with a smaller basket as well as a single cupholder.
The Revolution Flex 3.0 would be a good choice for people who would like to take their stroller on hikes or on more challenging terrain since it comes with mountain bike-style suspension. It's not cheap but it comes with many features that make it well worth the price. The seat reclines to nearly flat position, which is ideal for napping, or it can be adjusted to an upright position for a more focused adventures. The handlebar's rotating design allows parents to find the perfect height for their child, and can help prevent wrist strain.
The BOB Alterrain Pro is a top
single running stroller stroller, boasting more than 11,100 5-star reviews on Amazon. It's a bit heavier than some of our other choices however it has a sleek design and a silky fabric that makes it feel luxurious. It also folds very quickly and easily, in just a few steps. It has a reversible seat that can be used in a parent-facing position to maintain eye contact with infants and toddlers, or in an out-facing position to let older children enjoy the scenery. The BOB features a telescoping, adjustable handlebar with a hand brake to ensure safety when climbing steep hills.
