The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as a market that would grow for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words so that the next generation could be able to read them. However, many of the words were being replaced with foreign ones, such as dui from Bengali for

Origins
Established in 1917, Toto's early years mirrored Japan's economic growth. In the beginning, Toto manufactured goods to meet the demand for modern, new urban housing. To do this, it employed the country's first tunnel kiln to make ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered automation for production control, allowing greater efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s in order to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. The company founded the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other manufacturers' products to complement its own range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and increased the firm's market share in the world.
By the 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis to research and development of household appliances that use water. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve the needs of its customers and boost profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to managing its supply chain and applied the same method in its sales program. This led to a higher level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto continues to invent toilet technology. Its latest toilet has a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. The company uses recycled water for its manufacturing process and also has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets, as well as hand dryers that are more energy efficient than typical models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It hosts exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are ceramics) and the history of plumbing and products such as bath units. In an additional gallery, you can view Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum also has a bathroom that features a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.
Before the formation of Toto members of the group did sessions with various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Don,

Discography
It is common for a group with a name such as Asia to be a prog rock group however, it's actually a fairly straight forward rock outfit. The group started out as a quartet, and they recorded two albums: 1979's self-titled debut, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The band has a varied musical background, but their greatest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a massive blockbuster, but it was not without its problems. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that's a smash or we'll drop you" and the pressure was on them to deliver. Luckily for Toto they delivered with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is due to their prior experience in the music industry, as the band members had been session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts before starting the group. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into your mind. However, the album also includes some more mellow, jazzy tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song blends folk and distorted AOR which could seem like a complete blunder, but works very well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career. The band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in the wake of drug charges and the group continued to perform as a trio featuring Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the turbulence, 토토

Line-up
The album's third, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more powerful, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The more edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album was released just a few months later and the band embarked on a world-wide tour in support of the album. During this period, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old tapes and demos for an album that would feature songs that were never recorded before. It was completed in the form of a double-album called Then And Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain the single track "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which restricted his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes along with the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in early 2006 to discuss the possibility of officially reforming the band. The group, which was missing Howe who was occupied with Yes during that period, was later renamed Toto XIV. They toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
